"courage dear heart" limited edition series, April 2019
April is both national child abuse prevention month and national card and letter writing month. So why not honor both efforts by writing some special notes on these limited edition cards, available in three different formats: small (A2) folded, medium (A6) folded, and a Slim Jim flat card (our favorite card format) that fits neatly in a #10 envelope.
Cards and print available April 1 - April 30 only.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Kindred Place and the Memphis Child Advocacy Center, two Memphis-based nonprofit agencies that help children recover from violence, abuse, and neglect.
About the art
"courage dear heart" is a cyanotype print by Jennifer Larkey Balink made using an old photographic process that is exposed in sunlight and renders the final image in deep blue. The courage to speak up, the willingness to shine a light in the darkness, and the power of love are all part of how children and adults heal from trauma, and their bravery was the inspiration for this work.
