Cyanotype is a photographic process in which a light-sensitive chemical solution is painted onto paper, allowed to dry, and then exposed in direct sunlight. Objects or film negatives placed directly on the surface of the treated paper form the image. Cyanotypes are permanent, though the blue may change over time, depending upon the conditions in which the work is displayed.
